Saige's Alergies

We finally got Saige into a specialist in L.A. We just got back from seeing Dr. Schulte at Cedar's Sinai and she is amazing! We love her.
She tested Saige to see if she had allergies and she sure did! She is allergic to cat hair, grass, weeds, dust mites, olive trees, and a few other things. No wonder the poor girl is always coughing. We washed all of her bedding and put on a mattress cover that protects against dust mites. We bought her new pillows and put the same protective covers on them. She is taking allegra, an inhaler, and a nasal spray for the allergies. We have only done it for 2 days and have already seen an improvement. She didn't cough at all the first night and coughed less than normal last night. I am hoping that this is the answer we have been looking for-I want her to feel better so bad.
Dr. Schulte also thinks that one of her immunizations as a kid didn't work. She drew her blood to test for that and if that is the case, she will give her the adult dose of the immunization and she said that usually will take care of it. We should get the blood results in the next few days.
I am just so happy to have a game plan and an explanation for all of what Saige has dealt with for the past 2 years. I only wish we would have been able to get her in sooner.
